Brac Island in 3D

Brac in 3D

Das goldene HornThe island of Brac is located opposite the metropolis of Split and is one of the largest islands in Croatia with an area of approximately 395 km². Mountains up to 778 meters altitude determine the landscape here. On the numerous mountain passes you can discover small villages that have existed since the Middle Ages. The island of Brac has become famous above all for its white limestone. Already the Romans used the limestone for amphitheater, temples and palaces. The stone was used, for example, in the construction of the Palace of Diocletian in Split, in sacred buildings in Sibenik and Trogir and even in the construction of the White House in Washington. On the coast there are some old fishing villages that today live from tourism. Next to the town of Bol is the Golden Horn, which is one of the most famous sandy beaches in Croatia.
